Preparing the trip

A trip with children is, quite simply, madness. It’s best to make sure that everything is in hand, from the arrival to what we’re going to do once there.

Before travelling

Book all the essentials: excursions, hotel, transport... Take all of the right paperwork and if necessary, get their passport or ID in plenty of time. Pack your case, your kids’ cases and the emergency first aid kit at least two days before leaving to make sure everything’s present and correct.

If you’re flying with a baby, tell the company if you’ll need a cot or travel seat. Don’t forget to check whether the hotel has everything you need too (so you don’t have to carry it).

The day of the journey

If you’re travelling by train, bus or plane remember any stopover or connection times, along with the checking-in times and passport control.
