Be careful with water

Take care in the water. Water activities, which were rarely heard of in times gone by, have become incredibly popular. However, water can be extremely dangerous and it’s important to always take plenty of care, whether in the pool or the sea.

Even when a swimming pools is protected by a fence or barrier, you mustn’t relax, because children are like magicians and when we take our eyes off them for a second, they can get in. Even if your child is like a fish in water, if they panic for whatever reason, it can put them at risk.

Basic rules

    • Never leave a child unattended near water, not even for a second, to answer the phone, open the door, go to the toilet, sort out a fight between siblings... Never do it.
    • Keep your eye on kids whenever there’s water nearby (even a fountain).
    • If the pool has a barrier around it, make sure there’s nothing nearby that they can use as a ladder.
    • If it’s a private pool, or it’s the sea, keep an eye to see where the lifeguards are or basic life-saving equipment: life-jacket, emergency First Aid...
    • Keep a mobile phone nearby – just in case.
    • Don’t leave kids alone in a Jacuzzi, they should always have adult supervision.
